THE Kyerwa District Executive Director in Kagera Region, Shadrack Mhagama has vowed to terminate the contract with the Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) for failure to construct a district council’s office.

Speaking yesterday, the Kyerwa District Executive Director Shadrack Mhagama said TBA has failed to implement the project for the past six months now.

“We signed the project with TBA to construct a district council offices six month ago settled an initial payment of Sh107m, nothing has happened to-date,” he said.

The DED said Mhagama said the district authority would cancel the contract with the government’s building agency since it has failed to honor the agreement.

He revealed that they would write to the Ministry of State in the President's Office, Regional Administration, and Local Government to seek for a permit to annul the contract.

This is not the first time the agency is engaged in troubles with its customers.

Last month Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa directed the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) to arrest and investigate the TBA Mara Regional Manager, Peter Salim, over the failure to construct the district council’s office.
