Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was awarded the Mo Ibrahim Prize Committee.
Sirleaf, who ruled Liberia for the first time in Africa as the first woman leader, was trying to cover the years of civil wars that had worn the country when he was elected president in 2006.
Sirleaf, who has been shown as a big shareholder in the formation of the democracy in the country in 10 years and the reconstruction of the country, will also receive a prize of 5 million dollars.
Sirleaf also received the title of first female leader to be awarded.

The foundation, given by the Sudanese-British business man Mohammed Ibrahim, rewards managers who transfer duty every year in Africa. Founded in 2007, the foundation has not rewarded anyone for not having been nominated for six years.
