TWO passengers have sustained injuries after a passenger’s train in Tanzania crashed today (Wednesday) at Uvinza in Kigoma Region, in the Western part of the country.
The Tanzania Railways Limited (TRL) train which was traveling from the commercial city of Dar es Salaam crashed at around 13:50 hrs East African time.
TRL spokesperson Mohammed Mapondeka told the Azania Post that the accident happened as the train veered from its direction as it was about to arrive at the Kigoma railway terminal.
“A rescue team from Tabora has already been dispatched to the scene,” he said.
