Turkish investors can make a lot of profit if they do business in Tanzania, Clifford Tandari, chairman of Tanzania Investment Center (TIC), has said "Tanzania is part of the African Free Trade Zone covering 26 countries from Cairo to Cape Town". He added Tanzania was also a member of the East African Community with a population of over 50 million.
"Turkey is very successful in textile and footwear production. Tanzanian people trust products from Turkey," he added.
"Tanzania has significant opportunities in agriculture, education, water and underground resources besides industry," he went on to say.
Tandari also stressed the widespread use of English in the country was an opportunity for investors.
He said Turkish companies were aware of significant success in some African countries, adding that Tanzania has more advantages than other African states.
"We have a very good port here … and our country is surrounded by eight different countries... Turks will be able to easily sell their products to those countries,” he noted.
Referring to the fact that a Turkish company will build a railway line from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro, Tandari said: "When the project is completed, people will see the quality and believe more.”
