Despite worldwide views about Robert Mugabe’s resignation circumstances, actually the ex-Zimbabwe ruler had seen it coming, according to a Roman Catholic priest, who brokered his exit.

The priest, who said had known Mugabe for decades, said  that actually, Robert Mugabe wanted a gradual and smooth transition of power to Emmerson Mnangagwa, the vice-president he has recently fired and is now the new head of state.

Wanted: Labour-intensive FDIs

Member countries of the East African Community (EAC) economic bloc have been tipped that the type of Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) on their agenda must be those which create the badly needed jobs and meaningfully contribute to real development.

A regional forum for government officials responsible for investment was also told that if countries open up their market, they must be careful about managing a situation.
