THE government said today that it has started preparations to construct a district hospital in Itigi Township, Manyoni district in Singida region.
“Already 50 hectares of land have been acquired for the project,” the deputy minister for local government and regional administration Josephat Kandege told the parliament.
He said the government move is to ensure that it brings health services closer to the people.
The deputy minister was responding to a question earlier raised by Manyoni West legislator for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Yahya Masale who wanted to know plans by the government to fulfil its promise it made in 2015 election campaigns of constructing a hospital in the district.
“The government will also ensure that it provides an ambulance for patients at the hospital,” he said.
