THE deputy minister of Home Affairs Hamad Masauni said today that the government has already put in place the budget to construct police staff houses in Biharamulo district.
He was speaking in parliament while responding to a question raised by Biharamulo legislator for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Oscar Mukasa.
The legislator wanted to know when the government would build staff houses for police officers in the district which with shortages of police staff houses.
Responding, the deputy minister said plans are there to construct 75 houses and it was only awaiting approval of the budget to commence the work.
The houses are among the 400 units planed for construction in 2018/19 financial year.
On issue of police vehicles to be used during patrolling he noted that, this will depend on the availability of funds as there are police stations in many districts in the country which do not have enough vehicles.
