Bunge news: Govt threatens to revoke title deeds to an investor in Lindi

By Emmanuel Onyango

THE government has promised to revoke land title deed to an investor to end land crisis in Lindi Municipality, which has been denying residents to make their economic development.

Deputy minister of State in President’s Office responsible for local government and regional administration (TAMISEMI) Josephat Kandege said today in Parliament that the move aims at giving the right of ownership to the local people.

He was responding to a question earlier raised by Lindi urban legislator Hassan Kawinje (CCM) who wanted to know steps taken by the government to end the long-standing land crisis in the municipality.

“The government has put down strategic measures and will not hesitate to take legal actions to end all land crisis facing various places in the country,” he said.

By doing so, the government through the district authorities has determined to follow the right channels to discourage aggressors who cause chaos to local communities.
