FEARS that agriculture festivals dubbed ‘nanenane’ might be relocated to other regions from Dodoma city following its capital city status elevation has been squashed by the government.
Premier Kassim Majaliwa said today in parliament while responding to a question directed to him by the special seat legislator for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Mariam Kisanji.
The legislator wanted to know if there are any plans by the government to transfer the venue for the Nanenane agricultural show considering that Dodoma was now a capital city, therefore planned for extensive development.
Responding, the premier said Dodoma will remain as the host of Nanenane agriculture festivals being held annually in spite of it being the capital city.
“The government has given the mandate to the organizers from all zone authorities to ensure they choose their own venues and help farmers who come to market their produce,” he said.
