THE Minister of Home Affairs Mwigulu Nchemba said today in parliament that construction of police stations that had stalled due to financial constraints will be completed in 2018/19 financial year.
The minister said when clarifying a point on the state of stalled police posts countrywide.
He said the government was concerned with inadequate police stations in many parts of the country posing a threat to security of the public.
The minister was responding to a question earlier raised by Civic United Front legislator (CUF) for Kilwa South Vedasto Ngombale who wanted to know plans by the government to build a police station at Kipatimu division within his constituency and another at Nanjilinji.
Responding, the deputy minister for Home Affairs Hamad Masauni said the two police stations were among the stations whose construction had stalled, but would be completed in the 2018/19 financial year.
