Bunge news: Tanzania to employ sign language teachers

By Emmanuel Onyango

THE government said it will employ 4,755 primary school teachers in public schools in the country during the 2018/19 financial year commencing in July.

Deputy Minister for local government and regional administration (TAMISEMI) Josephat Kandege said today in parliament that the move aims at removing teachers’ shortage in the country.

He was responding to a question earlier raised by Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) special seat legislator Zainabu Vullu who wanted to know plans by the government to end teachers’ shortages in primary schools.

The deputy minister said the government will employ sign languages teachers in public primary schools to enable such groups of people to easily communicate with others.
