Among invited dignitaries was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Minister Dr Augustine Mahiga and the UN resident coordinator in Tanzania Alvaro Rodriguez.

Speaking before inaugurating the new office, Premier Majaliwa urged other international organizations to shift to Dodoma capital.

“The government has allocated a piece of land where they construct their offices like this one, we do not have problem for those intended to do so, “he said.

However, Majaliwa said already all government ministers and deputies, permanent secretaries and directors have already shifted to Dodoma.

“There is a total of 2,346 government employees who have shifted to Dodoma, I urge those who did not report to do so immediately,” he said.

The Premier who already shifted to Dodoma this year revealed that the Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan is on the way.

He said the VP will shift to Dodoma before end of this month December 2017r while the next top leader would be President Dr John Magufuli next year.

Speaking in one of the event early this year, the UN Coordinator was quoted as saying if the Tanzanian government is shifting its operations to Dodoma, then the UN in the country has no option but also join the administration there.

Responding to question as to when exactly will UN offices move to the designated capital, the UN chief said All the UN agencies will shift to Dodoma at some point although they do not know exactly date.
