President John Magufuli has given a one-month deadline for all Suma-JKT debtors to settle down their debts or more than Sh38bn or face arrests.
The president said today in Dar es Salaam at the launching ceremony of Mgulani industry owned by JKT.
He said whoever took the loan need to repay back even if it was the State House, individuals, military staff or public institution.
The head of state directed the Minister for Defense Dr. Hussein Mwinyi to write a claim letter to all its debtors and copy him (President) for reference for easy follow up.
“Taking a loan is an easy task, but why repaying back becomes an uphill task like a funeral,” asked the president.
He said if such money could be repaid back, it would help the Suma-JKT to direct such funds to other investments.
“I order security agents including army officer to launch a man-hunt to whoever will fail to repay the debt within 30 days,” he said.
The president also ordered the Chief of Defense Forces General Venance Mabeyo to bring to him names of retired army officer to benefit with further presidential appointments to various board of directors posts.
The army at the Suma JKT division has invested in cloths manufacturing and water production plants.
