The Public Service Remuneration Board (HSRB) is finalising the process of overhauling the salary system, under which discrepancies will end, The Minister of State in the President’s Office (Public Service and Good governance has said.
George Mkuchika said while sharing his ministry’s performance aired by Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) that for some years, the salaries of public servants with the same qualifications, experience and skills differed, based on the offices where they served.
“The board is addressing the issue and public servants will be updated on the developments soon,”he explained, adding that upon completion of the task, the board would submit the recommendation to the government for action.
He said the ministers will address the public on measures that would be taken to level salaries and other benefits basing on recommendations featured in the HSRB reportthat would be submitted to them.
He added that for a long time public servants had been complaining over the big discrepancies. Stressing that the board had been tasked to ensure that the anomalies were fixed, by using academic levels and occupation status as criteria.
