Tanzania allocates enough funds for Human Rights Commission

Tanzania Deputy Minister for Finance and Planning Dr Ashatu Kijaji said in its new 2017/20018 budget that the government has allocated sufficient funds to the Commission for Human Rights and Good Government (CHRAGG) as the move to improve commission’s activities on time.

The minister assured the public when responding to the question from Special Seat (MP) Mwantumu Haji, who wanted to know the government’s plan on financing the commission in the fiscal budget of 2017/18.

 ““The government is fully committed to ensure the whole budget for the commission is released on time, as it was done in the year 2016/17 where about 98 per cent of the budget was released by May 2017,” said Dr Kijaji.

She also said that in the national budget of year 2017/18, the CHRAGG allocations has increased by 40 per cent as compared to the 2016/17 Financial Year.
