Tanzania has lost Francis Maige Kanyasu aka Ngosha the man believed to have designed and drawn the currently used national coat of arms of Tanzania.
According to a report from Muhimbili National Hospital, Ngosha died last night 8:30 PM, at Muhimbili Hospital where he was being treated after a referral transfer from Amana Hospital, also in Dar es Salaam.
The artist was admitted at Amana Hospital on 25 May 2017 after his condition was reportedly deteriorating and a local television station broke the news about his condition.
The government took note of admitted artist last week and it is only yesterday President John Magufuli paid a visit at Muhumibli and chatted with him.
The late Maige designed the national emblem, which shows a warrior shield, which bears a golden portion on the upper part, followed underneath by the United Republic flag of green, golden, black and blue and a red portion under which are wavy bands of blue and white.
