The government has decided to renovate a house in Dodoma making it a temporary resident for the Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan who will use it once she shifts to Dodoma.
The building was previously being used by Dodoma regional commissioner.
The renovation will cost a total of Sh1.5 billion according to the minister of State (Policy, Coordination, Parliament, Labour, Employment, Disabled and Youth) Jenista Mhagama.
She explained that works of separating the office of staff and that of the aides of the Vice President would cost Sh680 million
Already Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa has inspected the renovation of a temporary residence of Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan,
Ealier Mhagama told the PM that a task force coordinating the government’s shift to Dodoma discovered that the place was not suitable for the Vice-President’s permanent residence.
“That place was ideal for her state visits to Dodoma. So, we have decided to renovate it so that it meets acceptable standards,” said Ms Mhagama.
