Tanzania: Police gun down 13 suspected criminals in shootout

Police in Tanzania have killed 13 suspected criminals who have believed to be behind of mystery killings of security officers and members of the ruling party (CCM) in Kibiti District and other parts of the Coast Region.

Police spokesperson Barnabas Mwakalukwa confirmed that the death of the 13 people killed on a shootout against Police and the criminals.

Mwakalukwa also said that the security forces had recuperated a number of weapons including five AK 47 assault rifles and ammunition. More than 40 people have been killed in the Region.
