Tazara floods impedes commuters

CITY residents were caught up today at Tazara floods as heavy rains continued t pound the city of Dar es Salaam this morning.

Passengers from Gongo la Mboto suburb along Nyerere Road travelling to the city centre and other places were all affected with the waterlogging experience.

The move followed after commuters temporarily suspended their services plying through the area.

A spot check by Azania Post witnessed the scene where the construction of flyover is also taking place.

The rains that started yesterday morning continued at least for the night and early morning today.

The flyover construction was also partly submerged following the blockage of the drainage systems in the area, Vingunguti suburb where the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) commenced recently also witnessed the same experience.
