AT last the  outspoken Member of Parliament for Singida East constituency Tundu Lisu has been discharged today from the Nairobi based referral hospital where he had been admitted since September 2017.

Lissu was admitted at the hospital following a failed assassination attempt on his life by unknown armed gunmen that left him sustained with bullet injuries at his home in Dodoma designated capital city.

He convened a press conference today in Nairobi whereby among other things he thanked the hospital doctors for having attended him cordially and morally during his stay and that he is now able to stand upright.

In his speech which was televised live through KTN News TV station, he claimed  that, since he was admitted at Nairobi referral hospital no any officer from Tanzania parliament who came to see him at the hospital during his four months’ stay in hospital.

However, he strongly denounced the  Tanzanian government which he said has been demoralizing and weakening the strength of the opposition camp, and at the same time attacking any body who tend to oppose his government openly.

Lissu who was seen addressing journalists while seated on a wheel chair, asked Kenyan journalists to expose political unrest and what is happening in Tanzania saying that, the country has lost democratic path and turned into dictatorship regime.

He said that, “it was shameful for a country like Tanzania which claims to be peaceful but surprisingly it has reached into a state of killing their political rivalry or anyone whom they suspect to oppose them arbitrary by firing them”.

“There are so many fatal cases like one which involves the disappearance of an investigative journalist  Azory one and half month. His disappearance has sparked a strong debate among the public domain and is yet to be found up to now.

He also mentioned his close aide in the party  Saanane who is nowhere to be seen up to now, under the scenario some people are found dead and their bodies floating on Indian Ocean waters, he said and added that for himself he has been apprehended by the police force eight times for interrogations for unknown reason just because he  tells the truth in public domain.

However, he said it we  have reached into such a state of the political affair and in order to rescue political opponents, there is no way except to inform the international community of the current political situation that is going on in the country.
