Tanzania’s Vice President, Samia Hassan Suluhu has instructed public secretaries to observe ethics and professionalism as well as avoiding disclosing official confidential matters.
Speaking when officiating the TAPSEA’s 5th General Meeting at Jakaya Kikwete Hall in Dodoma earlier today, Suluhu also calling public secretaries to be trustful by their employers and supervisors.
The Vice President insisted that a secretary should also be a work harder and creative at his or her workplace.
“I encouraged secretaries to specifically evaluate their performance at work and be prepared to learn new things in your work following changes in technology,” she said
Regarding the establishment of a Secretarial Bachelor degree, Vice President Samia assured them that the government is in a process of establishing a degree on secretary which will be offered by Tanzania Public Service College (TPSC) of Dar es Salaam and Tabora.
On her part, Minister of State in the President's Office, Public Service Management and Governance, Angela Kairuki said the government is working on some of the challenges which are facing secretaries countrywide.
The Minister said: “The aim of the government is to ensure secretarial cadre and other employees receive additional trainings that will help them increasing their efficiency.”
