Zitto Kabwe: ‘I call for international investigators on Tundu Lissu’s shootings’

 A cross section of Tanzanians  have received  with a mixed feelings the decision by the Tanzanian government to form probe  team to investigate brutal shooting of outspoken  Singida North Legislator, Tundu Lissu  which occurred in Dodoma three days ago.

Yesterday, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Simon Sirro announced to form a team to investigate the matter.

On his Twitter account, ACT Party leader Zitto Kabwe said the matter needs to be conducted by trusted international investigators.

Kabwe called for called for an autonomous international inquiry into the shooting attempt on Opposition Chief Whip TunduLissu who was shot and wounded by unknown assailants on September 7, in Dodoma.

“I call for independent an independent international investigation on assassination attempt against MP Tundu Lissu, local organs shall not be trusted,” he said.

Already IGP Sirro has formed a probe team, dispatched to Dodoma for investigation over brutal shooting of outspoken MP by unidentified gunmen.

Lissu, referred to Kenyan based hospital earlier yesterday for further treatment.

“The formation this probe team involved officials from Police headquarters, the team has already in Dodoma for the implementation of the launched manhunt for all attackers of Lissu in the city,” IGP told reporters in Dar es Salaam.

IGP warned people who use their social media accounts to post seditious messages concerning the shooting of Singida East-Chadema MP Lissu; said police started operation to identify them.

The condition of outspoken Member of Parliament, Tundu Lissu who was shot by unknown gunmen in Dodoma yesterday, is absolutely encouraging and continue receiving treatment in Nairobi, Kenya, Tanzanian Parliament said.
