MEMBERS of Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) have been asked to register and attend the Maputo International Trade fair to be held in Mozambique for six-day exhibition.

Already TCCIA and Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE) has received an invitation to attend the said exhibition which kicks off on 28 August this year.

Speaking to Azania Post, senior official from the Chamber, John Mayanja, said they have invited all members to register their names for an exhibition.

“We wish to invite all TCCIA members and non- members who wish to participate in the event to register their names at our offices countrywide or Tantrade offices”, he said.

He said the 53th fair would provide a chance for Tanzanian firms to exchange business contact with their counterparts.

“This fair is an annual and multi sectorial which encompasses all branches and sectors of activity representing a privileged place for national and international businessmen to expose their potential to foreign markets,” he said.

Trade Fair in Mozambique is being organized by IPEX - Institute for Support to Export - which seeks to facilitate the contact with international exhibitors and stimulate consumption and economic integration in the Mozambique economy.

With about 25 million inhabitants, where 3 million are concentrated in the capital city of Maputo, Mozambique is booming with an economic growth of 9% per year. The substantial economic development , liberalization and market opening and privatization of the economy and the creation of different areas of free investment , created ideal conditions for foreign investment in the country.

Since 2012 the Trade Fair became to be organized by IPEX –Institute for Support to Export that relocated the Trade Fair to a municipal area outside the city, 30km from Maputo, the area of Marracuene and its facilities are now in temporary marquises.

The displacement of the event and the new administration brought new provinces to exhibit their products and make it with open profile to the public through the collection of revenue.
