He asked members of media to continue using statistics provided by the NBS and Bank of Tanzania and not otherwise.

“Accurate and comprehensive data are inevitable in serious and sensitive decision making for  development of Tanzania,” he insisted.

“We thank World Bank, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and  UK department for International Development (DFID) for funding the building”, he added.

Last month Police in Dar es  Salaam arrested Kigoma urban legislator Zitto Kabwe for  allegedly uttering seditious words during  campaign rally in Kijichi ward

His arrest follows a day after the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) called for legal actions against MP  for what they claimed he was issuing false statistics on National Economic Growth.

According to media reports, the NBS Statistics Manager,  Daniel Maswola, pointed out that the MP was quoted saying that the National Economic Growth for the second quarter was at 5.7 per cent instead of the actual 7.8 per cent.
