TANZANIA Revenue Authority (TRA) has reminded taxpayers for prompt payment of property tax in 2017/18 financial year that ends on June 30 this year to avoid unnecessary inconveniences.
The tax body said contrary to previous arrangements, property tax can now be paid electronically or directly at the TRA offices.
TRA Commissioner General Charles Kichere said no extra time will be given after the June 30 deadline and all defaulters will be penalized for the delays.
“Property taxpayers can download the payment sheets on TRA website and make payments at any bank branch offices for CRDB and NMB or use Mpesa,Tigo Pesa and Halopesa mobile money transfers.
The Commissioner appealed to the public to follow advertisements in various media houses including the social media on property tax payment on how to pay their taxes.
“Property tax is paid in accordance with the laws, the public need to pay the tax to avoid unnecessary inconveniences,” he warned.
