Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has received 1,030,000 copies of science text books donated by Indian High Commission in Tanzania.
The books will be distributed to secondary schools located at remote areas in the country.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony in Dar es Salaam today, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Joyce Ndalichako said the received books will be useful to science subjects’ students especially from Form III to Form VI, and to their teachers.
“Science is a national major agenda which helps the government’s plan of becoming an industrial state, therefore the today’s donation has come at the right moment,” she said.
On his part, Indian High Commissioner Sandeep Arya said: “Education is the foundation of everything in the world, promised to share knowledge with Indian scientists, we are good in science so it is better for the people around the World including Tanzania to be like Indians.”
