This reporter visited the school today morning where he found pupils and teachers outside classrooms.
Sources at the school said the watchman has not received his salary for five month now.
"The watchman has closed classes, he has not been paid for five month now, he is demanding of his salary, and he has vowed not to open until he gets his money, “said the source who opted for anonymity.
Azaniapost contacted head teacher of the school Neema Ntchindi confirmed that the classes were closed and that teachers and pupils are outside, but said it is not because of unpaid salary of the watchman.
The head teacher confirmed that the guard has not been paid his last month money but said this is not connected to the missing keys.
"Yes the guard has not been paid, but his salary is ready with the cashier unfortunately the keys for the office are not found, once the room is opened he will get his money," she said.
She said the classes are closed because keys have been displaced by some pupils.
"It’s our pupils who keep the keys but they have been misplaced, we are waiting for other keys," she said.
Another teacher at the school collaborated what teacher saying the watchman whose name is James is demanding his money.
She said what is surprising is that records are showing that the watchman has been paid.
"Our records shows that the guard has been receiving his salaries for all the month, but the truth is that he has not received, we are just waiting to see what the school committee will do on the matter," she said.
Efforts to talk to school committee members proved futile as they were locked in a meeting at the house nearby the school.
