Beyonce has a new tattoo and fans have quickly noticed that the number four tattoo is a tribute to husband Jay-Z‘s album 4:44. But the '4 Chronicles' dont end there.
The Formation singer and her rapping hubby famously got Roman numerals IV inked on their fingers in red ink after getting married on April 4, 2008.
’It appears that Beyoncé has added a few more lines to the piece, slightly obscuring the original IV but making it look a little more like a numeral 4. Fans have pointed out that, from the side, the new tattoo also looks like a capital J. Sounds to us like these two are just as crazy in love as ever.
Beyonce’s new four tattoo
Their obsession with this number may stem from the fact they were both born on the fourth day – Bey was born on September 4, 1981, whilst Jigga, as he is known to fans, was born December 4, 1969.
It doesn’t end there as Beyonce’s mum Tina Lawson has her birthday on January 4 in January 1954.
Later the couple, who met in 2000 (some reports say 1999), got married on the fourth day of the fourth month in 2008.
Then, while Bey toured her fourth album which she, of course, named 4, she explained the importance of it during a show called Elements of 4.
Bey and Jay married in 2008
She told the packed arena: ‘On April 4, 2008 — eight divided by two is four — [Jay Z] put a ring on it.’
Again, another reason to add to the list of why the famous pair loves the number so much.
Unlike, mum, dad and grandma, Blue Ivy was not born in the fourth month of the year or on the fourth day of any month but the couple did manage to had the roman numerals for the number, IV, in her name when she born in January 2012.
Now, more recently Jay-Z, who also fathered twins Rumi and Sir Carter with Beyonce, released his most personal album to date and called it 4:44 and in the intimate title track, he appears to apologise to his wife for cheating.
Speaking of the song, he told iHeart Radio: ‘4:44’ is a song that I wrote, and it’s the crux of the album, just right in the middle of the album.
‘And I woke up, literally, at 4:44 in the morning, 4:44 a.m., to write this song.
‘So, it became the title of the album and everything. It’s the title track because it’s such a powerful song, and I just believe one of the best songs I’ve ever written.
