An Indian Bollywood superstar Sridevi Kapoor, 54, has died of a heart attack, her family says.
The BBC reports that Sridevi died while attending a family wedding of her nephew, Mohit Marwah in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
The report said the actress was accompanied by her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi who were with her until her passing away Saturday.
Her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor said it had happened "roughly around" 23:00-23:30 (19:00-19:30 GMT), indianexpress.com reports.
The film star has , according to records starred in more than 150 films in her lifetime. Some of the films she acted include Mr India, Chandni, ChaalBaaz and Sadma.
She was considered one of the very few Indian female superstars capable of huge box office success without the support of a male hero, said the BBC.
She had worked in films in the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages from the young age of four, reports said .
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi tweeted saying “I am saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran of the film industry, whose long career included diverse roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admires on this hour of grief.”

Several other people, leaders of all cadres have paid tribute to the late Sridevi.
