Bunge news: Family planning to target women in work places

By Emmanuel Onyango

THE government has introduced mobile medical van aimed at creating awareness to women on family planning.

Minister for Health and Community Development, Elderly, Children and disabled Ummy Mwalimu said in parliament today that a number of women were afraid to reach the hospitals for the service.

“We will ensure that we visit women in their respective areas of businesses and homes for awareness campaign,” the minister said.

She was responding to a supplementary question raised by Nyamagana legislator for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Stanslaus Mabula who wanted to know strategies by the government to make ensure family planning is adopted in families.

Responding, the Minister Ummy Mwalimu said women residing in rural areas and those in urban centers are quite reluctant to attend to hospitals for family planning lessons.
