Georgia: Measles outbreak spread in the region of Acara

Georgia General Director of Disease Control and Public Health National Center Amiran Gamkrelidze held a press conference on measles cases.

Gamkrelidze stated that the measles outbreak spread in the region of Acara, which is the center of Batum city. "268 measles cases have been seen in our country since 1 January, about 70% of them are in the Acar region." said

"In the other part of Georgia, active measures are being taken to stop the measles outbreak, but the number of cases is steadily increasing." said Gamkrelidze, calling for citizens to be vaccinated and to be careful against the epidemic.
