RESEACHERS in the Cincinnati Pediatrician's research have shown that "kiss disease" can also cause inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
In some previous studies, it was determined that this virus also caused some lymph cancers, Epstein-Barr virus which is also known to cause systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, joint inflammation and also juvenile idiopathic arthritis in some people.
The results of the study were published in Nature Genetics where scientists also reported that the EBNA2 protein produced by the Epstein-Barr virus binds to various regions associated with 7 diseases in the human genome.
It has been expressed that environmental factors such as viral or bacterial infections, malnutrition, exposure to pollution interact with genes and result in diseases.
TRANSMITTED VIRUS LIFE DIMENSION
More than 90 per cent of the population in the United States and other developed countries are infected with the Epstein-Barr virus by the age of 20 years of age, with 90 per cent of in developing countries being infected at the age of 2 years of age.
Epstein-Barr virus has previously been linked to rare disorders, including some cancers of the lymph.
