The government plans to upgrade Bunda hospital into a designated district hospital in the 2018/19 financial year, the Deputy Minister of State in President’s Office responsible for local government and regional administration (TAMISEMI) Josephat Kandege has said.
Kandege was responding to a question raised by a special seat legislator Agness Marwa (CCM) during a question and answers sessions in parliament today.
Agnes wanted to know the reasons for government failure from upgrading Manyamanyama health, centre located in Bunda district to the status of a district hospital as it has all the facilities required.
In response, the deputy minister said the government would upgrade the current hospital in the district to become a district hospital.
However, he said that “Manyamanyama health centre despite having all the needed requirements, will be considered later during the government plans.
