Among the projects currently being undertaken in Nzega includes the Water Pipe Project from Lake Victoria and the construction of 31 solar boreholes in all villages in the district which will not be reached by the Lake Victoria project.
Nzega Urban Constituency started during the 2015 general elections, but had been facing many challenges from infrastructure, energy, health, education and water shortages.
In 2015, Hussein Bashe won the post of MP via the ruling CCM ticket, after his attempt in 2005 and 2010 hit a snag.
