The Speaker of the National Assembly Job Ndugai has appointed new members to the parliamentary committees in line with section 96 of the constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The appointment comes barely two months before the commencement of the budget sessions for the year 2018/19 financial year scheduled for April 3, next month.
According to section 116(1), membership in parliamentary committee will last up to the end of the 10th parliamentary meeting, which is the first half for the parliament life.
“With the power and authority conferred upon me under section 115(3) and looking at the criteria associated in section 116(5), I have appointed new members of the parliamentary committees”, said Ndugai.
Committee members are responsible for electing the chairman and the deputy chairman at the start of the budget session.
