The newly Tanzania’s Ambassador to Sweden Dr. Wilbrod Slaa has committed to reinforce his duties more on commercial diplomacy to enable Tanzania gain a momentum on the industrialization policy drive.
Dr. Slaa made a pledge in his thanks giving speech immediately after being sworn in by President John Magufuli as a new Tanzanian envoy in the Republic of Sweden at a colourful ceremony held at State House in Dar es Salaam today, Friday.
The President also swore in Mr. Muhidini Ally Mboweto as a new High Commissioner in Nigeria, both of whom takes on their duties in respective countries immediately.
Dr. Slaa who formerly served as the Secretary General of the opposition Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (Chadema) showed a grin of happiness over his new post which he promised to work with diligence so that the country’s economy grows to a higher standard.
“I thank you Mr. President for the faith you had on me, and I also promise to use my knowledge and experience to successfully make Tanzania move a one step forward towards attaining the industrial development,” he said.
For his part, the new envoy for Nigeria, Ambassador Mboweto also promised to fulfill all he is supposed for the good of the country. He thanked the President the position he had bestowed on him promising to work more diligently for the benefit of the nation.
For her part, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, East African, Regional and International Co-operation Dr. Suzan Kolimba reiterated the need for her ministry to fully cooperate with the two envoys in all matters of the national interest.
She said, her ministry has adopted global commercial diplomacy and has urged the two envoys to work closely and by showing patriotism on the nation.
Today’s occasion is the second in series of work schedules at State House, which has been busy with the swearing in ceremonies. It is only yesterday, whereby His Excellency President John Magufuli swore in the Chief of Staff and promoted ten military officers to the rank of Major Generals.
