It was announced that the VP will report at the capital officially December 15 this year, as the second top government official after Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa’s same exercise in September 30 last year.

Speaking at Kilimani State Lodge, the Vice President has called on Dodoma residents to actively cooperate in order to bring development in the country.

The VP said among the duties her office handles is environment and she wants a green Dodoma.

“I want to make Dodoma green and on 2th  this month we are launching a tree planting campaign. We want residents to participate fully not only at the town centre but as the whole region,” she said.

Earlier inviting the Vice President, the Prime Minister Majaliwa said it was good that the long-time determination to transfer the headquarters to Dodoma was now a reality since the President ordered the shift of civil servants on Heroes day in July 25, 2016.

The Prime Minister said the transfer exercise which was being in phases has seen Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and their deputies shifting to Dodoma in the first phase while the second phase involved the transfer of Directors and Heads of various departments.

“Already   2816 civil servants have reported in Dodoma and they were providing necessary services to people,” he said.

Majaliwa said public servants were still moving to the capital and by February 2018 about 3,015 will have reported in Dodoma.
