MANCHESTER UNITED could sign Antoine Griezmann after the forward rejected Barcelona, according to reports.
Manchester United wanted Griezmann a year ago, only for the player to end up staying at Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona have since appeared frontrunners in the race for his signature.
The Catalan giants are ready to offload Ousmane Dembele, who has toiled ever since his arrival last summer.
However, Spanish outlet Don Balon say Griezmann has snubbed a move to Barcelona.
And the France international is now supposedly ready to consider a stunning move to Manchester United instead.
The Red Devils were hellbent on securing the player’s signature 12 months ago.
But, when Atletico were slapped with a transfer ban and Griezmann chose to stay, they ended up landing Romelu Lukaku instead.
However, with Manchester City and Chelsea taking the major trophies last term, Jose Mourinho knows more is required.
And Don Balon say Griezmann is now ready to join United - or City.
Pep Guardiola’s side are also sniffing about and may pounce for the 27-year-old if their bid for Riyad Mahrez fails.
Guardiola is a perfectionist and is aware City will only remain the Premier League’s top dogs if they strengthen.
Griezmann could yet snub both English teams in favour of staying at Atletico.
However, he may have to mend his broken relationship with the club’s supporters.
An emotional Griezmann was consoled by Fernando Torres after Atletico fans jeered him in their 2-2 draw with Eibar.
And, if he chooses to quit, United now appear to be ahead of Barcelona in the race to sign him.
