Arsenal have invited AS Monaco teenager Nabil Alioui to their training ground as the Gunners look to see off competition from Manchester City, according to a report.
French media outlet RMC , as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Arsenal have held talks with the 19-year-old’s agent about a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.
The same article states that Premier League champions Manchester City have also been in negotiations with Alioui’s representatives about a potential move to the Citizens.
According to the same story, Arsenal hope to steal a march on their domestic rivals by inviting the AS Monaco starlet to the north London club.
Alioui hasn’t made an appearance for AS Monaco’s first-team but has earned a big reputation following his performances in the French side’s youth teams.
RMC state that Manchester City hope that their positive relationship with Alioi’s agent could give them an advantage over Arsenal.
Indeed, the teenager’s representative Patrick De Koster is also Kevin De Bruyne’s agent.
Arsenal have already signed Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Matteo Guendouzi in the summer transfer window so far.
The defending Premier League champions added Algeria international Riyad Mahrez in a club record deal from Leicester City.
