Arsenal are underdogs against Pep Guardiola’s side who are on the hunt for the treble.

Manchester City were surprisingly knocked out of the FA Cup last Monday by Wigan but are riding high in the Premier League and beat Basel 4-0 in their Champions League last-16 first-leg.

Merson believes club-record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January, will be key to their success tomorrow.

He says the Gabon international’s pace can exploit City’s high defensive line.

“I think where Arsenal can win it is Man City will play on the halfway line,” Merson said on Sky Sports.

“They will have 70-odd per cent of the ball, they’ll play on the halfway line.

“If the ball goes over the top, they are not catching Aubameyang. They’re not catching him.

“The thing then is their goalkeeper will be playing probably five yards outside his own box to pick everything up.

“But that’s their chance, they’ve got to be quick.

“If they are playing on the halfway line, you need to have runners willing to run without the ball and only Ramsey runs without the ball.”

Merson has predicted Arsenal to win the game 2-1 at Wembley.
