Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has trained alone with Arsenal after completing his £56 million move from Borussia Dortmund on deadline day.
The 28-year-old arrived in London on Tuesday to finalise his transfer and the deal was officially announced on Wednesday. Aubameyang, who scored 141 goals in 213 games for Dortmund, is set to make his debut on Saturday as Arsenal host Everton in the Premier League.
The Gabon international did not train with his new Arsenal teammates on Thursday as they were given a day off, but the striker took part in a solo session with fitness coach Tony Colbert.
Arsene Wenger was also present at Arsenal’s training ground and met the striker, who will wear the No.14 shirt, during his session. Aubameyang is Arsenal’s club-record signing.
Aubameyang was put through his paces by the fitness coach. Aubameyang met with Arsene Wenger at the training ground.
‘Of course we know he is a big player and will be a big addition to Arsenal and of course we know how much of an important player he’ll be for us and how he’ll be a strong addition to the team, him and Henrikh Mhkitaryan of course,’ Mohamed Elneny told beIN Sports.
‘We haven’t met him yet, he came to club’s headquarters only he hasn’t yet come to the dressing room so of course we are happy that he is going to be with us.
‘Hopefully he’ll be able to integrate with team rapidly and do a lot for us in the coming period and he can help us accomplish what we need from him.
