Tanzania’s Azam FC head coach Aristica Cioaba said that he is now working in developing young players from their academy based in Dar es Salaam, as the move to improve his squad in a near future.
What Cioaba is doing its like what England’s Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenge has always doing in developing youngsters from the club’s academy.
The coach said this after his team returned from southern highlands where it played three friendly games against Mbeya FC, Njombe Mji and Lipuli FC.
The coach said there are some people who are questioning his club new policy of giving young players the opportunity to play at the expense of experienced players.
He told his club website that he is very happy with his player’s performance and he is hopefully that come the league critics will be silenced.
Cioaba said he is very delight that his players are responding well to his trainings and are adapting his football philosophy.
He asked supporters of the club and others not to too much on his team results of the three games they played but rather on the way his squad played.
Azam who last season finished the Vodacom Premier League on position 4 ,have lost their influential and dependable players like Aishi Manula,Shomary Kapombe and John Bocco who have joined Simba SC ,Gadiel Micheal and Hamid Mao are also rumored to be on the way to join Yanga SC.
“ Many football critics are questioning the wisdom of Azam to offload all its experienced players and remain with young players who do not have league experience ,but let me assure all our supporters that Azam will emerge strong as the players I have are responding to my trainings” said the former head coach Aduana Stars of Ghana.
He said after the three testing matches, he is now very confident that he has strong side capable of upsetting results in the league.
The tactician said he is looking for more friendly matches so that he can have a strong squad a head of the league which kicks off August 26.
