Tanzania’s youth football team, Serengeti Boys yesterday for the first time lost 1-0 in a friendly match against Cameroon.
This was the second friendly match with their hosts as in the first match last week Serengeti Boys won 1-0 against Cameroon.
So far Serengeti Boys have played seven friendly matches out of which won it has worn five matches and drawn one game and lost one .
According to coach Bakari Shime these statistics still well and deserves to congratulation as losing a game is also good for the youths to be mentally well built.
Speaking over the phone coach Shime said the goal had been scored in the 75th minutes an indicator that the boys were able to sustain the hosts’ pressure to the last end .
Serengeti Boys take part in AFCON youth championship for under 17 year olds which kicks off May 14 and 28, 2017.
Serengeti Boys had set a camp in Cameroon for their final tune up for the finals.
The team will fly out to Gabon next Sunday ready for their debut campaign at the continental showpiece.
The Boys have played several strength-testing games since launching official training camp in preparation for the upcoming AYC finals.
They twice beat Burundi 3-0 and 2-0 on March 30 and April 1, in matches played at the Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba.
They played out a 2-2 draw against Ghana's Black Starlets on April 3 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
