CHELSEA star Eden Hazard has revealed he scored against Liverpool to keep team-mate N’Golo Kante happy.
Hazard netted a stunning solo effort to put Chelsea into the next round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 victory at Anfield.
Daniel Sturridge’s acrobatic strike had put the hosts ahead before Emerson drew Maurizio Sarri’s side level.
But Hazard won it for the Blues with a mazy run in the 85th minute, five minutes before penalties would have been needed.
The Belgian had started the match on the bench, with Chelsea facing Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, though came on with half an hour remaining.
And it was a conversation while in the dug out that inspired the 27-year-old to weave his wand and put Chelsea into the fourth round.
“The goal was special and so was the qualification,” Hazard said.
“It’s always tough to play here. That’s why the win is more important.
“I spoke with N’Golo (Kante) on the bench and he told me that he didn’t want penalties so the only option was to score! I did well so we can go well.

“I think the game on Saturday is going to be more important.
“I don’t know if it’s in my top five goals but it’s up there because it’s vs Liverpool.”
Eden Hazard has started the new season in scintillating form having now scored six goals in all competitions.
And former Blues midfielder Jody Morris has praised the Belgian’s talent.

"I think he's probably the most gifted player to ever play for Chelsea," he said.
"He wins games on his own. I think he has won more games than Zola did and he has scored some outrageous goals.
"Look at what he's won at the club in terms of leagues and with teams that weren't really up there with previous Chelsea teams, but with him in your team.
"For me, Eden Hazard is the most gifted. Whether he is the best, I don't know. I think Lamps and JT are pretty difficult to bypass."
