The newly elected Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) central committee chairman, Clement Sanga, have revealed that in his four years in to power, he will make sure that the TPLB will become an independent organization away from Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
Sanga, who is also Yanga Africa acting chairman, outlined that the passed leaders have made as they can, and in his leadership he will continue where they ended plus making sure that TPLB is becoming a company.
“TPLB is a TFF organ. It faces a lot of challenges but if we will transform to a company we will make football to be more marketable and conduct a huge business.
“I want to make sure that we get numbers of investors in premier league and second division and that is my vision,” said Sanga.
Also Sanga added that he will make sure that he remove all complain on the board and make sure that there is no groups within the TPLB members.
“We need to be more transparent that our football we reach in the higher level,” he added.
The outgoing chairman, Hamad Yahya Juma (Mtibwa Sugar) congratulated Sanga but insists that board of committee and all members plus TFF should work hand in hand with new chairman to make sure that TPLB is moving forward.
TFF president Wallace Karia said they will work with Sanga who won by 16 votes over 10 of Yahaya.
“I send my sincere congratulation to all winners. I hope we will collaborates with them well, I know all of them key on the challenges facing our football and they will bring solutions,” Said Karia
Shani Christoms Mligo from Azam FC were elected to be vice chairperson by 15 votes out of 16.
Three positions of premier league representative in admistartive committee Hamisi Mshuda Madaki (Kagera Sugar) and Ramadhani Marco Mahano (Lipuli) both won. Madaki got 12 votes and Mahano 13 votes.
Almasi Jumapili Kasongo from Ashanti United FC was the only candidate of the first division representative and he won by 35 votes out of 40.
Edgar William Chibura from Abajalo FC won second division representative position by 35 votes out 40
