Hat-trick hero Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brilliant late equaliser as Portugal clinched a thrilling 3-3 draw with Spain to light up the Fifa World Cup on Saturday (NZ time).
Spain came from behind twice and looked as though they'd done enough to claim all three points, till Ronaldo struck a brilliant late free kick to notch a hat-trick and salvage a point for his team in a brilliant match to kickstart the World Cup.
Spain, the 2010 champions, scored twice in three minutes just before the hour mark to claw ahead 3-2, a one-goal lead they would maintain till Ronaldo's late dramatics.
