Tanzania soccer power houses Simba SC and Yanga FC will lock horns in the coming Vodacom Premier League (VPL) 2017/2018 season on 14 October at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) information officer Alfred Lucas disclosed this today when he released the fixtures of the coming season which will kick off on 26 August.

He said the 2017/2018 season will be curtained raised by a community charity shield match between the two giants on 23 August at the national Stadium.

 The two teams, Yanga and Simba will play the charity shield match as emerged winners of VPL Champions and Azam media confederation Cup (FA) respectively. 

Full fixture for the first day matches as follows Ndanda fc vs Azam, Mwadui vs Singida United,  Mtibwa vs Stand United, Simba vs Ruvu Shooting, Njombe vs Prison, Mbeya City vs Majimaji, Kagera Sugar vs Mbao Fc while Young Africa will host Lipuli fc

The game between Yanga and Simba is expected to attract a huge crowd considering the fact that the two teams have made good signings by bringing in new players.

Yanga who are defending VPL champions have signed Ibrahim Ajibu from archrivals Simba SC and also managed to give new contacts to their top players like Amisi Tabwe and Donald Ngoma.

Simba SC has also managed to bring in some new players like John Bocco , Shomari Kapombe and Aishi Manula both from Azam FC,Ugandan Emmanuel Okwi and defender Salim Mbonde from Mtwibwa Sugar.

The Msimbazi based side are also romoured to have signed Yanga SC most loved player Haruna Niyonzima whose former team failed to renew his contract.
