Europe's most in form team is... Eibar!

Forget Ernesto Valverde's Barcelona, Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, Unai Emery's Paris Saint-Germain or Jupp Heynckes' Bayern Munich, the team in the best form in Europe over the last seven league games is Eibar.

Only Manchester City and Juventus can match their tally over that time frame, with 19 points of a possible 21.

Jose Luis Mendilibar's men have avoided defeat for over two months, since the Basque derby against Real Sociedad in early November.

The side arrived at the winter break in superb form, sparked by a thrashing of Real Betis at Estadio Ipurua which gave confidence and momentum which is still ongoing.

Instead of feeling under pressure from the bottom three, Eibar have gone from relegation candidates to having hopes of European football again after only eight weeks.

The team have managed to avoid too many direct rivals, but the minnows have always given their all and there can be no questions asked of their performances.

Whilst recovering their identity, Eibar have won six of the past seven games, which is no easy feat.

Only Valencia and Barcelona have enjoyed such a run this campaign, though some, including Mendilibar, will remain frustrated at having dropped two points at Getafe on November 20.

Few can explain the incredible transformation, but those inside the club believe that the players have recovered their confidence and belief.

Now, they feel that they can beat anybody in any conditions, whether that is Valencia or Las Palmas.

Performances from key men like Anaitz Arbilla, Joan Jordan, Ivan Alejo and Charles have given a strong spine to the team.

Add in talented options like Dani Garcia, Takashi Inui and Sergi Enrich, all of whom have been kept out by injury at some point, to the recent arrival of Fabian Orellana, and it is a recipe for success.

After the worst start to a top-flight season in their history, Eibar have bounced back superbly.

Next up, they face their toughest challenge yet in Atletico Madrid, but Mendilibar knows that his team will go into the side full of belief and has justified the confidence that the coach maintained even in their early season blip.

Even when this run comes to an end, Eibar know that they can be proud of this incredible run.
