World Football governing body (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino and other top officials will arrive in Tanzania Thursday to chair the FIFA Summit which will take place at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Center.
According to Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Information Officer, Clifford Ndimbo, everything is ready for the event, the first of its kind in the country’s footballing history.
Ndimbo said that TFF will use the summit to improve local football in areas of infrastructure and technical issues.
Fifa Summit, which is the second largest event for the football organ will be held for the first time in Tanzania and will attract football official 19 FIFA member countries.
Infantino will be accompanied by CAF president Ahmad Ahmad, Fifa Vice Chairman David Gill, Fifa General Secretary Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura plus Fifa and CAF executive committee’s members.
The agenda of the summit will be various Fifa projects best known as Fifa Forward Programme, Youth soccer, and Women soccer.
Others are FIFA calendar, improving FIFA and member’s relations and their priorities.
Participants are Bahrain, Palestina, Saudi Arabia, United Arabs Emirates (UAE), Algeria, Burundi, Central Africa, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Tunisia, Bermuda, Monserrat, St. Lucia, Us Virgin, Maldives, Congo Brazzaville and hosting nation Tanzania.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) president Wallace Karia said that the federation is proud of hosting the big meeting and that is due to TFF good relationship and world football stakeholders.
