The addition of the newly Simba SC  striker John Bocco into the Tanzania national football team ‘Taifa Stars’ which will face  Rwanda ‘Amavubi’ on Saturday at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza is expected to add  depth into the squad.

The two teams lock horns in the African Nations Championshi(CHAN) qualifiers, and two weeks later will meet once again at the return leg to be played in Rwanda and the winner between the pair will play against South Sudan or Uganda.

Bocco made his senior international debut for Tanzania in 2009, and is capped 54 times.

The striker who has scored 14 goals for Taifa Stars was dropped from the national team due injury which led him to lack game time at his former Club Azam FC.

Taifa stars head coach recalled him to boost the national team which competed at the confederation of South African Football Federations (COSAFA) where the national team emerged third after beating Lesotho in post-match penalties.

The player is accredited for having eye on the ball, ability to hold the ball and dribble, make fast decisions and   also good on head scoring.

His coming into the team will boost the striking force of Stars which depend mainly on the scoring abilities of Simon Msuva and Shiza Kichuya

On the domestic scene Bocco is the record goal scorer at his former club Azam and also in 2012 league season emerged Vodacom Premier League (VPL) top goal scorer.

After a good outing at the COSAFA cup in South Africa, soccer lovers are tipping the national team to beat Amavumbi on Saturday.

The football lovers are saying Stars have an advantage as they have good strikers and a solid defense.

Rwanda ‘The Amavubi’ will depend on Olivier Karekezi, who is their best goal scorer with 25 goals.
